“What good are your thoughts & prayers when they don’t even keep the pews safe?”
The massacre in New Zealand left 49 people dead Friday.
The SJW’s in America couldn’t let their moment slip to politicize this tragedy, and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez decided she’d take the lead.
New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern condemned the terrorist attack as “an extraordinary and unprecedented act of violence.” Speaking on behalf of all New Zealanders in a TV presser, Ardern said her “thoughts” were with those affected by the shootings.
This sentiment apparently prompted AOC to attack the calls for “thoughts and prayers” by the National Rifle Association and others following this and previous mass shootings.
Unfortunately, the phrase has become a recent target for gun-control advocates.
At 1st I thought of saying, “Imagine being told your house of faith isn’t safe anymore.”
But I couldn’t say “imagine.”
Because of Charleston.
Pittsburgh.

Twitter users immediately jumped on this insanely idiotic display of ignorance.
Im saddened you make such incredibly divisive comments in a time of pain for us here in Christchurch, New Zealand.

Prayer is a movement of the heart that awakens it to the needs of others. Prayer invites the strength of God that will help those of faith whose families died in that mosque. Prayer changes things. There’s much to condemn here, but don’t scoff at prayer. I pray for you @AOC

Saying thoughts and prayers do nothing in the immediate aftermath of people murdered while **praying** in their house of worship is the single dumbest fucking nuclear take I’ve ever seen on this website. Ever.

Our personal favorite comes from Caleb Hull, who called Ocasio-Cortez “disgusting” and “human garbage,” throughout a slew of lashings aimed at Ocasio-Cortez:
AOC is garbage. Human garbage. There is no excuse for this tweet.
Awful. https://t.co/PknPR7nlb1

We have to admit, these comments are absolutely jaw-dropping — Even for AOC.
