Beloved Figures Taken From Us In 2016: Always Remembered

The Mobile Conservative 2016 Memorial:

2016 bore witness to many critical losses. Here’s a few of mankind’s many casualties this year.

 

David Bowie

Bowie passed away on Sunday (January 10) following an 18 month battle with cancer. Reports have since suggested that he “died from liver cancer” after “surviving six heart attacks”.

 

Carrie Fisher

Fisher’s death came four days after she suffered a cardiac event on a flight from London to Los Angeles (December 27, 2016). She was best known for a rare combination of nerve, grit, and wit in her most unforgettable role, as Princess Leia in the iconic movie franchise “Star Wars”.

 

Alan Thicke

Alan Thicke died from rupture of major artery.  Starring as the father figure in “Growing Pains”, Alan touched many lives and will be missed! He died Dec. 13, 2016 at 69 years old.

 

Alan Rickman

Among many other iconic characters, portraying the role of Professor Severus Snape, Rickman will be immortalized. On 14 January 2016, Rickman died in a London hospital, surrounded by friends and relatives.

 

Gene Wilder

Death. Wilder died at the age of 83 on August 29, 2016, at home in Stamford, Connecticut, from complications of Alzheimer’s disease. He had kept knowledge of his condition private, but had been diagnosed three years prior to his death.

 

Elie Wiesel

Activist and writer Elie Wiesel, the World War Two death camp survivor who won a Nobel Peace Prize for becoming the life-long voice of millions of Holocaust victims, died at age 87 (Jul 2, 2016).

 

Prince

Prince died from a fentanyl overdose at his Paisley Park recording studio and home in Chanhassen, Minnesota, on April 21, 2016, at the age of 57.
