Congressman Pushes New Bill Allowing Lawmakers to Carry Guns

This Bill Would Be Welcomed Among MANY Lawmakers.

(Mobile Conservative) — Rep. Mo Brooks had a difficult week last week, after witnessing his co-worker and fellow Representative, Steve Scalise, being shot at a softball game. He has decided to put this horrible experience to good use, however, by introducing legislation to protect lawmakers from such future situations.

High profile targets such as lawmakers should be allowed the same 2nd amendment rights as any other citizen!

“I’m going to be introducing legislation this week … to allow congressmen to carry a sidearm, should they so desire,” Rep. Mo Brooks said in an interview on Fox News

H/T Conservative Tribune:

“I want congressmen to be treated as if they were law enforcement,” Brooks said, “given that we are high-profile targets for the bad guys, the lone wolves, the terrorists.”

Fox News reported that the gunman in last week’s attack had a list of GOP targets in his pocket. Brooks’ name was on that list.

“I’m very much concerned by that,” Brooks said in response to hearing the disturbing news.”

“Those of us who are on this assassination list, it behooves us to be a little bit more wary than we otherwise might be,” he said.

No kidding. Who can blame members of Congress for being a little upset after finding out their names were on this radical leftist’s hit list.

It’s not surprising to see interest in this kind of legislation increase after such a horrible attack. Washington, D.C. is just one area in the United States where innocent people are left defenseless because of the areas strict gun laws

Hopefully this legislation will wake up politicians to see they aren’t the only ones who have the right to protect themselves.”
