The Department Of Justice Faces A Lawsuit From Judicial Watch
(Mobile Conservative -) The conservative watchdog group “Judicial Watch” has filed a lawsuit against the US Justice Department over records related to the private meeting between former Attorney General Loretta Lynch and former President Bill Clinton as Hillary Clinton was under investigation during her 2016 campaign. The lawsuit is the result of an escalation following the DOJ’s failure to respond to a formal FOIA request
The lawsuit states:
Plaintiff seeks to promote transparency, accountability, and integrity in government and fidelity to the rule of law. As part of its mission, Plaintiff regularly requests records from federal agencies pursuant to FOIA. Plaintiff analyzes agencies’ responses to its requests and disseminates both its findings and the requested records to the public to inform them about “what their government is up to.”
Furthermore, the lawsuit calls for “Any and all records and/or transcripts of a meeting held between Attorney General Loretta lynch and former President Bill Clinton on June 28, 2016.”, along with all records of communication from either of their offices and/or hired officials as well, in regards to the meeting.
This meeting occurred just days before FBI director James Comey announced that the bureau would not recommend charges against Clinton.
