Russia and Iran issue firm warning for future strikes

(Mobile Conservative -) President Trump’s response to the Syrian government’s chemical attack on rebel forces (along with civilians), was both swift and effective.  The attack included the launch of 59 Tomahawk cruise missiles to target the Assaad regime’s air base. This being the first example of how Trump plans to display  America’s strength when justified action is necessary. A stark contrast to former Pres. Obama’s idle threats and red lines.

Monday, April 10th, Secretary ‘Mad Dog’ Mattis reported, “The assessment of the Department of Defense is that the strike resulted in the damage or destruction of fuel and ammunition sites, air defense capabilities, and 20 percent of Syria’s operational aircraft,”

Press Sec Sean Spicer commented, “As a PR stunt, they took some pre-fueled planes, pushed them over to make it look like nothing [had happened], but make no mistake about it: their radar capability is gone, their fueling capability is gone, and a good chunk of their aircraft is gone,”

Syrian Allies Responded Immediately:

Iran and Russia issued a joint statement in response, “threatening to defend the regime from future U.S. military action.” Both countries have been key allies of the Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad, since he rose to power in the 1970’s, and throughout various conflicts in the middle east.

However, Saudi Arabia hailed the strike as a “courageous decision” by the Trump administration. The United Arab Emirates reported they also supported the action. Both countries are members of the US-led coalition fighting ISIS in Syria.

The Washington Examiner Reports:

Russia has deployed modern anti-aircraft weapons to Syria, a defense system they plan to bolster in light of last week’s strike. Those defenses are one of the reasons that U.S. military planners used naval-based missiles for the strike; the defenses were too far away to intercept cruise missile attacks on that base. “All this talk that we have secured the whole of Syrian airspace is artistic whistling,” Pavel Felgengauer, a Russian military analyst, told Radio Free Europe. “You can more or less defend a perimeter of about 40 kilometers.”
