Capitol Hill – Representative Ted Lieu (D-Ca) was participating in a press conference today when he started addressing the lawsuits against President Trump and his administration.

Lieu, who is a frequent critic of the President never misses a chance to attack him. He went through a laundry list of executive orders that had been temporarily blocked by federal judges. He wants to make sure the President follows the court orders and said,
“Every president including Donald Trump in his first term complied with court orders. If this administration is going to start ignoring court orders, they are essentially eliminating the entire judicial branch because why even have judges if you’re not going to follow their court orders. So, we expect this administration to follow court orders.”

Last year, the Supreme Court ruled in two cases against Biden and his administration’s attempt to forgive student loan debt.
“In Biden v. Nebraska, which was decided 6-3, the court struck down the administration’s student loan forgiveness program and agreed with the six challenging states that they had standing to sue. Chief Justice John Roberts wrote the opinion for the majority. He was joined by Justices Neil Gorsuch, Clarence Thomas, Samuel Alito, Amy Coney Barrett and Brett Kavanaugh. Justice Elena Kagan wrote the dissent and was joined by Justices Sonia Sotomayor and Ketanji Brown Jackson.
In the second case, Department of Education v. Brown, the court ruled that individual borrowers who challenged the plan lacked standing to bring their case. A unanimous court held that these challengers were unable to show that any injury they suffer from not having their loans forgiven is traceable to the loan forgiveness plan.”

Too bad Representative Lieu failed to mention Joe Biden and his blatant defiance of the Supreme Court ruling. During a speech last year, Biden said,
“The Supreme Court tried to block me from relieving student debt. But they didn’t stop me. I’ve relieved student debt for over 5 million Americans. I’m going to keep going.”
