This move marks a huge victory for families, and sets Trump up to be the most “Pro Family” administration in decades. Currently the cost of IVF is a barrier many struggling families cannot overcome, with costs ranging from $12,000 to $25,000 per round.

According to The White House, this order looks to “protect IVF access and aggressively reduce out-of-pocket and health plan costs for such treatments.” This aligns with sentiments the President made from the campaign trail, expressing overwhelming support for families struggling to conceive, and looking to IVF. “I think the women and families, husbands, are very appreciative of it,” Trump said.

The primary goal of this EO is to discover any additional red tape or beurocratic barriers may imposed on accessiblity of IVF, by the federal government.

The White House Website notes:

The Order directs policy recommendations to protect IVF access and aggressively reduce out-of-pocket and health plan costs for such treatments.

The recommendations will focus on how to ensure reliable access to IVF.

Priority will also be placed on addressing any current policies, including those that require legislation, that exacerbate the cost of IVF treatments.

The Order recognizes the importance of family formation and that our Nation’s public policy must make it easier for loving and longing mothers and fathers to have children.

We’ll continue to monitor this order and update as news is released from the White House!
